 Our Mission 

Home Improvement Seminars, Inc. (HIS Ministries) was established to help churches minister to hurting families. Many churches and pastors are unaware of family problems in the church because families are reluctant to share their pain.  The Seminars give the church the opportunity to minister without exposing the individual family problems to the pastor or the church.

A secondary task of our ministry is to minister to families who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy.  Please click on the tab above "Our Unplanned Pregnancy" to help you understand what God can do in the midst of a difficult time.  Through this section of our site we hope we can offer some tools to bring you comfort.

In the last few months, God has prompted us to start a new conference for hurting churches.  In our travels we have seen so many hurting churches, dissention, lack of spiritual vitality, church splits, and a general sense of apathy and decline.   The new conference is focused on developing individual spirituality in the local body of believers. We think it will eventually become our most important seminar. 

Ministry Profile

Dr. Leslie C. Chaney D.Ed.Min, and his wife Margaret have been ministering to families for over twenty years.  Les developed the concept of ministering to families through the local church while he served as Vice President of the Family Ministry Division at South Texas Children's Home.  His pioneering programs of Church Family Ministry affected hundreds of families and churches in South and Central Texas.  Having been a pastor, he understands the difficult dynamics of church ministry.
