Background Info

Home Improvement Seminars, Inc. (HIS Ministries™) was established in February 2004, to help churches minister to hurting families. Many churches and pastors are unaware of family problems in the church because families are reluctant to share their pain. The seminars give the church the opportunity to minister without exposing the individual family problems to the pastor or the church.

Dr. Leslie Chaney and his wife Margaret have been ministering since his graduation from seminary in 1987. Dr. Chaney developed the concept of ministering to families through the local church while he served as Vice President of the Family Ministry Division at South Texas Children’s Home. His pioneering programs of Church Family Ministry affected hundreds of families and churches in South and Central Texas. Having been a pastor, he understands the difficult dynamics of church ministry.

The Financial Freedom Seminar has been presented in over 40 churches; and the Chaney’s work with Intimate Life Ministries and the South Texas Children’s Home Family Ministry has involved them in the lives of hundreds of couples. They bring not only a Biblical understanding about families, but also bring a practical message having been married for 38 years and having two daughters.
